Shady's Back...Tell A Friend

To be completely, 100% honest with you (all 14 of ‘you’ reading this), when I started this blog 1.5 years ago I had assumed that by now I would have achieved some sort of fashion blogger stardom...but things didn’t pan out that way. Whatever…#fuggit. It’s kinda comical how we’re trained to live our life in a neverending state of thinking about “our future”. But I suck at making ‘plans’, I would much rather just deal with life as it’s coming at me, with no expectations of what I’m supposed to be doing and no picture in my head of what my life should look like. Have you noticed that it doesn’t really matter what kind of “plan” we have mapped out for our future anyways? Life continues to unfold in ways we never could have expected.

Which is exactly what my life has been doing lately, and precisely the reason I needed a little break. After Chelsea left I had to ask myself, “Self, should you continue to blog? Why?” And here’s what I came up with: I will continue to blog with no expectations as to what ‘kind’ of blog this is or where it’s heading. I will blog for the following reasons: I love to write, I love sharing my photography, I love showing off my vintage duds, and I looooooove shootin the shit with people about fashion and the role it plays in our life.

So...I’m back bitches.

Vintage jacket. Vintage dress. Converse All Stars. Random little jewels.

  1. welcome back lovely.

  2. It's about time!

  3. I completely understand where you're coming from. I remember starting a blog when I was a senior in high school and had no idea what the hell I actually wanted to blog about but just felt like it was something I should be doing as a way to get my voice out there in the "fashion world". I stopped after a few months because I didn't know what the fuck I wanted to do with it and would rather live my life than post about a life un-lived on a blog. And so I stopped for 2 years and finally came back after realizing that there was something about blogging that nothing else in my life could give. Even though I know there are people out there reading it I never get comments and feel like I'm talking to myself a lot of the time but damn it, I fucking love it. I love creating the posts, organizing material, taking photos and writing what I consider to be compelling arguments and musings.

The point in all of this is not to be talking about me but to let you know that I love Pardon My Fashion. I love your point of view, your style, your sass, and your fuck everyone attitude, Imma do me and you can do you. I'm glad your back and maybe none of us will reach the blog fame that is thrown in our face every day in this internet world of ours but you're certainly famous in my book.

  4. Lovely outfit !

  5. aw I really love this outfit, so pretty!

  6. Oh I'm a bad blogger - didn't know you were gone or that Chelsea had left or that you had a cool new job! But regardless, nice to see your blog edge up my blog roll feed. :) Blogs change with life. Mine has morphed from highlighting the thrifting finds of a skinny downtown hipster chick with a shopping column in Canada to being about an unemployed, married new Mom in France who's struggling to redefine her personal style! You lose some readers, but then new ones jump on for the ride, and all the while you're still being true to your experience - that's great!

  7. yes baby.

    welcome back.

Can I just move in w/ you? I'll be that awesome 3rd wheel that you and your fiance will never know how you lived without.

We could do daily shoots, over-think probably mindless fashion topics, and make up funny phonetically-correct swear words.

I mean, hot-diggity-dayum. it sounds good, no?

    Missed you.

  8. well in my opinion you should have reached blogging stardom by now and the blogosphere is full of so much shit right now that people like you are the only reason why I jumped back in. im sooooooo happy that you are back, i missed your style and sartorial wisdom......shady's back and im telling allll my friends.
brooke @ tigers dont lose sleep

  9. Funny, I've noticed the same thing about plans, and their tendency to dissipate when they collide with 'the real world'. Still, welcome back.
