Just Do It

AH! Can you believe how GORG my new maxi dress is? I’m obsessed, the print, the fringe, the cut...unbelievable. Can’t wait to wear it sans fur in the summer with some sandals and a straw hat. Wanna know the secret to wearing a maxi dress in the cold? Just throw some leggings on under there for extra warmth...no one will ever know and you’ll be niiiice and toasty. So, lets chat. I do not understand this sentiment of “not being able to pull something off”. You guys know what I’m talking about, right? I am sure you’ve all had the same experience; girlfriends who gush over how they love your style and think you’re oh-so-chic, but insist that they would never be able to “pull it off”. Ummm...what does that even mean?! It’s not like I’ve been granted any style super powers that allow me and other style super heros to wear a more fashion forward aesthetic...I just DO IT. I dress this way because I subscribe to the school of thought that life is waaaaay too short for boring clothes. Don’t you agree? Wake up and get dressed each morning like it could be the last outfit you ever wear...ever. Maybe even the one they bury you in. I don’t mean to sound like The Secret or something but, the ONLY thing holding you back from living out your wildest fashion fantasies is YOU sistah! It’s like Oscar Wilde said, “You can never be overdressed.” Amen to that!

Vintage dress. Vintage coat. Vintage boots. F21 necklace.

Until next time,

Chelsea

  2. WOW! That is one amazing dress! Love the colour, print and the fringing detail! Amazing photos and I like the sentiment of this post. I never understand that not being able to pull things off thing either - I think it is usually because people are lacking in self confidence, which is sad.

  5. Love it, I know exactly what you mean. A lot of people are afraid that they will look hideous will wearing a 'strange' vintage item, but most of the times it is just perfect as long as you feel comfortable in it!
